Wall handstand (hold)
Shouldersintermediatetimedwall
A static handstand held with the back to a wall: hands on the floor near the wall, arms locked overhead, body straight and inverted with the heels lightly touching the wall.
How to do it
- Stand facing the wall, bend forward and place the hands flat on the floor shoulder width, about a hand-span (15-20 cm) from the wall, fingers spread.
- From a lunge-like stance, kick the back leg up and hop with the other so both legs rise and the heels come to rest lightly on the wall.
- Lock the elbows, push the floor away (shoulders up toward the ears), squeeze legs together, toes pointed, ribs pulled in to keep the back from arching.
- Hold, with the gaze on the floor between the hands.
