Prone snow angel on a block
Postureeasyrepsyoga block
Lying face down with the forehead on a yoga block, straight arms by the sides lift a few centimetres off the floor and sweep out wide, just above the floor, until they are overhead in a Y, then sweep back to the hips. The shoulder blades stay back and down and the low back does not arch.
How to do it
- Lie face down, legs straight, forehead resting on a yoga block on its long side, arms straight by the sides.
- Squeeze the shoulder blades back and down and lift both arms a few centimetres off the floor.
- Keeping the elbows straight, sweep the arms out to the sides and up past the shoulders until they are overhead in a Y, just above the floor.
- Sweep them back down to the hips the same way. Avoid arching the low back or shrugging the shoulders.
- 8-10 slow reps; if it is too hard, do one arm at a time.
