Diamond push-up
Armsintermediaterepsno equipment
A push-up with the hands together under the chest, thumbs and index fingers touching to form a diamond. The elbows stay close to the body and point back as the chest lowers to the hands, so the triceps do most of the work.
How to do it
- Start in a high plank on hands and toes, body straight from head to heels.
- Bring the hands together under the middle of the chest: tips of the thumbs touch and tips of the index fingers touch, making a diamond shape between them.
- Bend the elbows, keeping them close to the ribs and pointing back toward the feet, and lower until the chest almost touches the backs of the hands.
- Keep the hips in line with the shoulders: no sagging, no piking.
- Press the floor away to straight arms without flaring the elbows.
