Wall posture check (hold)
Postureeasytimedwall
Standing with the back against a wall, the back of the head, the shoulder blades and the buttocks touch the wall with the heels a few centimetres in front; the chin tucks to bring the head back and the shoulders settle back and down. A quick check and reset of overall posture.
How to do it
- Stand tall with your back to a wall, heels about 4-5 cm in front of it, legs straight without locking the knees, arms hanging straight along your sides with the palms toward the thighs.
- Let the buttocks and the shoulder blades touch the wall; keep only a small curve in the low back, gently tightening the abdominals if the gap is bigger than a hand's thickness.
- Tuck the chin and glide the head back until the back of the head touches the wall, eyes level (don't tip the chin up); let the shoulders settle back and down.
- Hold 30-60 seconds breathing normally, then step away and keep the position. Repeat a few times a day.
