Wide-grip pull-up
Backintermediaterepspull-up bar
A pull-up with an overhand grip about one and a half times shoulder width: from a dead hang the elbows pull down and out to the sides until the chin clears the bar, then the body lowers to straight arms.
How to do it
- Grip the bar overhand with the hands about 1.5 times shoulder width; hang with straight arms, legs together, feet off the floor.
- Draw the shoulder blades down, then pull the elbows down and out to the sides.
- Continue until the chin is above the bar, chest toward the bar.
- Lower slowly to straight arms. The hands never move and the legs stay still.
