Pseudo planche push-up

Shouldershardrepsno equipment

A push-up done from a plank with the hands placed beside the waist and the shoulders leaned forward well past the hands; the elbows bend backward along the ribs while the forward lean is kept, then press back up.

How to do it

  1. Plank on toes with the hands flat on the floor beside the waist/lower ribs, shoulder width, fingers turned out to the sides or back.
  2. Lean the whole straight body forward so the shoulders are clearly in front of the wrists (arms slant forward-down from shoulders to hands); shoulder blades pushed apart, body straight, heels up.
  3. Bend the elbows, keeping them pointing backward close to the ribs, and lower the chest to a few centimetres above the floor while keeping the shoulders ahead of the hands.
  4. Press back to straight arms, keeping the lean. Hands and feet stay planted.
