Standing crescent moon (hold)

Indudalasana

Yogaeasytimedno equipment

Standing side bend: feet together and legs straight, arms overhead with the fingers interlaced and the index fingers pointing up; the torso arcs to the left in one plane, the hips shifting slightly to the right, the arms beside the ears and the chest facing forward.

How to do it

  1. Stand in Mountain: feet together, legs straight, weight even on both feet, arms by the sides, gaze forward.
  2. Sweep the arms overhead, interlace the fingers and release the index fingers so they point up together; upper arms beside the ears, elbows straight.
  3. Lengthen up through the fingertips, then bend the upper body to the left in one plane: no leaning forward or back, chest and face staying toward the front.
  4. Let the hips shift slightly to the right to balance the arc, legs straight and weight still even on both feet; the arms stay beside the ears and keep reaching long.
  5. Gaze forward. Hold, then switch sides.
