Prone backbend in which head, chest, arms and straight legs all lift off the floor at once, so only the belly and front of the pelvis remain down; arms reach back alongside the body.

How to do it

  1. Lie face down, arms along the sides, palms facing the floor (or up), legs straight together or hip-width.
  2. Lift head, chest and arms; arms stay straight and reach back toward the feet, roughly parallel to the floor.
  3. Lift both straight legs from the thighs, toes pointed back; knees do not bend.
  4. Weight rests on the lower belly and front pelvis; gaze forward/slightly down, neck long.
