Chin tuck
Postureeasyrepsno equipment
Standing tall, the head glides straight back over the shoulders (a 'double chin') with the eyes level, is held briefly, then relaxes forward. It trains the deep neck flexors against forward head posture ('tech neck').
How to do it
- Stand tall, feet hip width, arms relaxed by the sides, shoulders gently back and down, looking straight ahead (it can also be done sitting).
- Without tipping the head up or down, glide the chin and head straight back, as if closing a drawer with your face, until the ears are over the shoulders and you make a 'double chin'.
- Hold 2-5 seconds: you feel a light stretch at the base of the skull and the front neck muscles working. Shoulders and chest do not move.
- Relax the head forward to neutral. 10 slow reps, 2 sets, several times a day; stop if you feel dizzy or it hurts.
