Decline push-up

Chesteasyrepsbench or box

Push-up with the feet raised on a bench or box and the hands on the floor, so the straight body slopes down toward the head; the elbows bend to lower the chest toward the floor and press back up.

How to do it

  1. Hands flat on the floor slightly wider than the shoulders, wrists under the shoulders.
  2. Place the toes (balls of the feet) on top of a box or bench about 30-45 cm high behind you; legs straight and together, body one straight line sloping down from heels to head.
  3. Bend the elbows (pointing back about 45 degrees) and lower until the chest/face is a few centimetres from the floor.
  4. Press back to straight arms. Feet stay on the bench, hands stay planted, hips do not sag or pike.
